Frequently Asked Questions
The following are frequent questions and answers from Portal users. If you have additional questions, Contact Us using the link at the top.
|The primary objective of the POST Learning Portal is to provide access to online training, tools, and resources for California law enforcement.|
The POST Learning Portal is a resource primarily for: active California peace officers, dispatchers, training managers, and training instructors working for presenters in the POST Academy Instructor Certificate Program (AICP).
POST has also established a procedure allowing certain designated non-peace officers (NPOs) to access training courses offered in the Learning Portal. Utilization of this process is voluntary (see Bulletin 2014-04 for requesting NPO access at your agency. )
There are also online courses used to meet requirements for proctor trainers. An agency's representative must nominate a proctor first through the Sign Up area on the first page of the Portal.
Visitors not mentioned above have the option to purchase courses from the "Available for Purchase" category on the first page.

We have made efforts to support mobile devices, like the iPhone and iPad, with this version of the Portal and some videos will be accessible. However, the courses and other videos are available only through devices that support the Adobe Flash Playera technology Apple does not support.
Additionally, some courses are not designed for the limited screen space of a mobile device.
POST is aware of a growing desire to make use of mobile devices for taking training as well as possible technologies that might make full support of mobile devices possible. We will be exploring this as the industry moves forward.
